Rose Dawson: Quite a decent service but in true Romanian fashion quite clumsy. Called first in order to make sure that they offer certification services ( they do only for academic ones) and inquire about the prices. Obtained the information in quite a decent English and timely manner. Called a second time a month later to make sure that the information l was given innitially was still up to date. Well, this time around, the lady who answered was overwhelmed by the task of having a conversation in fluent English and went back and forth trying to find the required information. I was able to put together the bits of broken English and understand that the information l obtained during my first call to them was up to date. I apparently had to fill in two request forms, one for each document and payment can only be done via bank transfer because they do not have a pos device on site. Armed with these bits of information l went there. As it turns out, having your documents certified is an easy , fast process that takes 10-15 minutes ( it was not busy when I went on a Tuesday afternoon around 3:30 pm). However, for some reason, no one requested that I fill in the certification request forms so l honestly do not know if it was a mistake on their part or if it is not needed after all. I just paid for the certification 40 Ron ( 20 Ron each) and left with my newly certified papers. Prices vary depending on the documents,so they said, but for masters degree certificate and transcript this is what they charge at this time. One important thing to remember is that although this is the British Council people tend to speak Romanian so do not expect to be greeted in English or for it to be the default language. If you go there in person or call it is a good idea to have someone that speaks fluent romanian around or use your knowledge if you speak the language as a little Romanian goes a long way when you need any of the services they provide here. All in all a decent place but to be dealt with only when needed. They also offer IELTS tests and needless to say equipment is ancient ( they almost ruined my hearing with the excessively loud recordings), staff is Romanian and their manners ( in some cases) and proficiency in English leave a lot to be desired.

Iuliana BOZKURT: We were very happy with the courses provided by British Council. The teacher, Ms Sorana Dragomir, is a wonderful person and she is very close to the kids. I can also see that my daughter's English level has improved tremendously. Personally, I would highly recommend this institution. It is the absolute go-to for those who want to learn good British English.

ORGANIZARE PROASTA CU ORE DE ASTEPTARE LA COADA!!!Dupa 3 ani de curs, pot spune ca esti norocos daca ai un profesor bun, sau unul nativ. Este clar ca au probleme in gasirea personalului. In 3 ani am avut doar profesori romani, fara calitati deosebite, dimpotriva. Daca nimeriti la profesor Alina Modoaca sa va asteptati la tipete si jigniri adresate copiilor! De genul: "sunteti cei mai slabi din British". Si muuulte tipete. Veti primi niste scuze de la conducere daca sesizati ca profesara tipa si jigneste. Cam atat...Veti astepta la cozi de peste 2 ore ca sa puteti sa luati suportul de curs care nu poate fi ridicat altfel: se poate lua doar de la biblioteca British Council, iar in primele saptamani de la inceperea cursurilor, e o coada imensa, dureaza 2 ore pana va vine randul. Cursul incepe, pierzi sedinte de curs, fara a avea suportul daca nu esti dispus sa astepti cu orele.Aceeasi coada pentru diverse alte solicitari: inscrieri, biblioteca, etc.In rest, in sediul principal din Dorobati, cladirea auxiliara in care se tin cursuri are unele sali mici, fara ferestre exterioare, in care copiii intra in serii, unii dupa altii, intr-un aer statut, irespirabil uneori. Sa vedeti sezonul virozelor! - E cel mai bun mediu de raspandire. Spatii mici, neaerisite si mereu copii raciti.Este un vacarm si o aglomeratie rar intalnita la iesirea de la curs - toate clasele ies in acelasi timp si efectiv te calci pe picioare pe culoare si pe scara.Cam asta e British Council in ultimii ani. Poate a fost altfel, dar noi asta am experimentat. Metodele de invatare cred ca sunt singurul lucru bun, dar pana la rezultate, platesti prea multi nervi... si desigur pe banii si timpul tau.Si ar mai fi ceva: au in oferta cursuri de la ora 14 la 17. 30. Adica 3 ore de curs la copii de 9 -10 ani. Oare nu e prea mult? 3 ore de curs pentru copii care oricum vin de la scoala? Pot ei sa fie atenti si sa aiba rezultate bune?Vom cauta alt curs!
