ILANY SCHWARTZ: It was considered one of the oldest and most beautiful restaurants in Bucharest, with good food and moderate prices. Now, it became a "factory", long wait, and meals from very good to less than medium quality. The french fries arrived almost cold, the mititei ( still good) ...I asked to be well done, and they served it almost "vivant". At least, the mustard was very good.
Maksymilian Majer: This is a typical tourist location. It was recommended to me by at least five different people as the great place for local cuisine. While the building and the atmosphere have a great vibe with live music and dance performances, the food isn't the best I've had. The local skinless sausages were nice, but the French fries were just awful - not crispy at all. There are better options to eat local food in Bucharest.

AFKology: The interior is cozy with natural accents such as wood or wool. We stayed in a room on the ground floor, but next time we would like to stay upstairs where we understood that you can see directly into the kitchen. I liked the fact that you are served with still or sparkling water from the house. At first, you are asked if you have food allergies or intolerances. The menu is a tasting menu consisting of twelve dishes: four amuse bouches, three appetizers, two main courses, a pre-dessert, and two desserts. You will not get up fully satiated, but there is just enough food. Each dish is presented by the waiter so that the dinner becomes an experience itself, an incredibly special one. My favorite dishes were the starter with new potatoes and wild garlic, the bread-and-butter service and the dessert with baked yeast ice cream. We had a wonderful and memorable experience at Noua Bucatarie Romaneasca.

Ivona Octavia Laiu: Expensive, but worth it. They change the menu once a season. They have 2 short menus and 1 long tasting menu.The short menus cost 550 RON each and the long one 650 RON. So, for a dinner in two + some cocktails and the included tip, it will cost you about 1400 RON in total.You can make an online reservation and you'll get a reply on your mail with the menus. They accept only card payment. All the details will be on the mail, except the bar menu (cocktail, beer, wine, etc.).I spent there around 3 hours with my boyfriend. The courses/dishes were small, but tasty and presented to us in a tasteful manner. In some photos I've already seen from previous reviews, the menu items seem bigger. They are actually small like the palm of your hand, but very nourishing. I felt already full after the appetizers.The music was smooth jazz (coming from amazing state of the art speakers), the lightning seemed perfect for a time in two.What I enjoyed the most was the tour of the restaurant and its history, at the end of our dinner.The initial house was projected by the same architect of the Arch of Triumph (our Romanian version).It belonged to a boyar and after remained in ruins. It was rehabilitated by the original plan. The walls in the room we had reservation was made of black ceramic tiles - very rare.The floor was made of river stones, the paintings belong to a Romanian artist and everything from the menu is with organic Romanian ingredients. Even the liquid soap from the bathrooms (which smells addictive) is made by a Romanian company.For tourists I think the local wines and their stories would be a delight, too.I also asked about the name of the restaurant. It's called Kane after a Hawaiian god.It was a special dinner and evening for us and we fully enjoyed.

A 2-3 hours culinary experience depending on how much time you want to invest... In you.The restaurant is located close to the Old Town, in a very lively old house, renovated and brought back to life by the owners, with no small investment, around half a million euros. This says something about their commitment to good taste and planning to make this location a flagship for their business. Went on a Saturday with a colleague to try their menu and see what is all the hype about them. Had the short menu with wine pairing. The food was.... amazing, from the presentation to the taste. Also I went there a little sceptic when I heard they are a fine dining restaurant... Lots of restaurants in Bucharest advertise themselves as fine dining but at best they are fine cuisine. These guys are the real deal, after each serving they changed the plates, the cutlery, the only thing they didn't changed were the lights which were also cleverly designed to put the food in a "good light", with beams hitting the plates right in the center.The wines, are mostly Romanian, and from small wineries so you might drink there wines that are exclusevly sold to them. I could write more about the food but you need to go and discover it for yourselves, and be aware that they change the menu according to the season as they use food that are most common in the season.In conclusion, your time is an investment and if you want to gain something from it, I recommend you this awesome restaurant.

Ira Michael Blonder: My Romanian friends warned me to avoid pastrama de berbecut because I would, probably, find it to be very salty and very tough to chewy. But I found this item to be delicious - a bit crispy as befits meat cooked on a barbecue, tender and properly salted to ensure the eater gets the right taste. The item is served, as is the tradition, with a lengthy hot pepper and helping of mamaliga.My only quibble? The portions were a bit small order.Why the 3 rating on the Atmosphere? Sitting at one of Lacrimi si Sfinit's patio tables the frequent passers by smoking cigarettes was an unpleasant distraction. I must note I did have the option of sitting inside where, as is the case for any restaurant, at present, in Romania, smoking is prohibited.A plus on the Atmosphere: the neighborhood was very reminiscent of Williamsburg, Brooklyn, back in the USA from my time as a resident located just a few doors down from what was the Domino sugar factory (now long gone).

Joey Lim: This is the first Romania restaurant we went to, so I was pretty excited given the raving reviews. However, the food wasn't what I expected. We kinda expected the "One more salad" to have a good mix of lentils, roasted peppers, avocado, onions etc. The bowl that came looked like a full bowl of lentils with some condiments. Might as well put it as a side, not a salad. I was so disappointed, it didn't even get a photograph. None of my friends liked their food either. 'God Help me' meat balls were nice but they were lost in the sea of mashed potatoes. So may God help me with the potatoes.

I already saw other opinions posted on this place saying the same. The owner replied this was a mistake and not their practice. Apparently, this is their dishonest practice. I do not recommend this place at all!

Iulia Boagiu: The place has a nice vibe, you eat in a house garden. The staff is nice and attentive but food was disappointing.We ate brunch, the prices are crazy, feels like hipster style but prices should justify the quality or something innovative.The salad is plain leaves with some croutons and pieces of haloumi, tuna sandwich is a plain bread, only has tuna from can and just a little cheese + salad leaves for over 30 lei, they don't add anything to make it restaurant like special or they bothered to be creative.
Razvan Dumitrescu: We came here especially for eggs Benedict, everybody praise them. Turned out the worst we've ever eaten. And they aren't cheap either. The hollandaise sauce was sour, the "carefully cooked overnight ham" tastes like boiled cloth. There is no savour whatsoever, the dish is bland. We sent them back after a few bites. It does not live up to what's described and expected.The coffee is ok, nothing out of the ordinary.The service is very quick to take your order or cater to your needs. They made a discount to our meal (we refused and left them the difference).The location is truly beautiful, especially if you can get a seat in the garden.

Robert Prokopowicz: Our definitely favourite place to go for breakfast in Bukareşt. Were visiting it for a second time and they are keeping their mark, a really high one. Excellent food (and here I'm talking about world class, no place related or for the price. They know their kitchen and ingredients, serving few but superb things and rarely changing anything, if they aren't sure it would be even better that way), i really rarely finding nothing to complain about (professional thing being a chef) and it is fullfilling all the goals of the great restaurants. Few amazing dishes in menue, super consistent service and taste, unique place and experience. In a small building you can choose to sit in a bar style area, cozy romantic garden, open terrace with a view or second floor white room (and its all in a few steps one from another, super well planned). Cofee here is amazing, good vines and great cocktail choices. There is nothing that you wouldn't love about the restaurant. They are closing kitchen to prep for a dinner service around 17.00, so be prepared for it. Next time we gona try to dinner there to have a full view, but I can tell it would be perfect.What a place, what a food, what a drinks!Vegetarian options: There are and they are excellent like all the menue.
