Dan Smuc: A wonder for those who love the history of Bucharest!! Awesome maps!
Duma Mihaela: The behavior of the security lady on the first floor was disturbing and unpleasant. Very upset about the presence of people in the museum. The lady didn't let us go down the left side of the stairs for no reason, very nervous she told us to go on the right side even though the stairs reach the same point.Perhaps some investments in personnel are needed, because such moments spoil an experience that can be beautiful. The palace, visually, nothing to complain about, is absolutely gorgeous!
Bruno Zevi: Interesting. It describes the History of Bucharest starting from the Stone Age.
Stela Petrescu: Beautiful building, but it needs more value

Dan Dincă: I recommend visiting this museum, from here you can quickly find out a lot of information about old Bucharest. A minus is the precarious condition of the parquet floor which creaks at the slightest touch, the sound produced being even disturbing for the atmosphere that must be found in a museum.
Visited on Weekend …More

alberto hernandez: A museum that leaves much to be desired. Starting with the poor restoration and maintenance. On the other hand it is worth mentioning that the workers have no knowledge of what is exhibited in the museum. In short, a museum that is not worth it, if you can avoid paying to visit it, all the better. It is a pity that a museum with such a beautiful history has such uninformed and unfriendly workers.

Daria Radulescu-Banu: Intimate and special tour. Definitely recommend to get a real and in-depth picture of life during communist times.Reservation recommended Yes …More
Rares Finatan: Very authentic communist era apartment with immaculately maintained furniture and artifacts. Highly recommended for those who are looking for a glimpse into the past of the day-to-day life of the era.
David Swift: Interesting experience with some fascinating artefacts and heirlooms.Bogdan was friendly, knew his stuff and had some great anecdotes.Visited on Weekday Wait time No wait Reservation recommended Yes …More
Anne R: If you are interested in the life of normal people during the Romanian communist era, this is the place to go (or rather, the trip to do). Our guide Iona explained how people lived, using the objects and spaces in and around the apartment. She was able to answer all our questions, and there were a lot!Very nice, personal approach. We enjoyed it very much. Highly recommended!
Monica Predescu: Very weak
Andreas Rudloff: Visited on Weekday Wait time No wait Reservation recommended YesMore
Kevin Brewer: A truly unique museum and insight into the Communist era. Most of the artifacts are from the current owner's grandparents who lived in the apartment through the Communist era. It's a perfect contrast to Primaverii Palace. The only issue is the ticket is not cheap, but I believe it is worth the splurge.Visited on Weekday Reservation recommended Yes …More
Laura H R: Our tour was extremely interesting and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Anita, our guide, had a lot of historical knowledge and made the tour both informative and fun. The flat itself is full of original artefacts and recreates the life during the communist times. It was quite touching to learn a bit about the lives of the family who lived there. We recommend this tour to anyone interested in finding out how life was back then.
Mihai Morariu: Loved this museum! I am Romanian and already knew most of the items that I saw there and the stories that I heard from Ioana (our awesome guide), but I also learned new things and truly felt it was an authentic experience.I would like to make two suggestions that I feel would make the experience even better:- Patriotic/communist music running in the background.- Old footage (to be displayed on the TV in the living room) of TV programs that were common during those times. Some short videos of Telejurnal, speeches of Ceaușescu etc.
Thomas Elzinga: We really enjoyed visiting. We learned alot from our guide Bogdan. We talked with him about the Romania in the past and the Romania from 2022.The only thing i wanne mention as maybe a minus. Its not a average apartment of people living under communism in Romania. The apartment is bigger, luxer then what most people lived in.But its a great experience for people that want to time travel.
Utku Çavuşoğlu: one of the best museum I have ever seen.Visited on Weekday Wait time No wait Reservation recommended Yes …More
Cold Blood: An interesting and fascinating place with a very good and patient guide who was kind enough to offer us a glass of soda and let us open up and walk through the old furniture, full of 'memories' from the past.A museum that offers you a new perspective on life from the communist times and makes you see your native neighborhood from a different angle and makes you appreciate and understand the architecture and evolution of the city over time.
Barna Danko: An amazing experience in one of Bucharest's secret attractions. An extremely pleasant trip back into the home life of the Romanian citizen in Ceausescu's times.Alex was an very patient guide, letting us explore at our leisure and ask any questions, his answers and retellings where very easy to understand and engaging. A unique experience that will make any Romanian or tourist nostalgic or bring a new way of seeing their city while being educated about the intricacies of the communist regime and it's eventual downfall.1000/10 Would visit again. Highly recommended and throughly enjoyed.
Rob Kentell: Highlight of our stay in Bucharest, relaxed and informal. Brought the history of post war Romania to life in an informed and balanced way.
maya: an incredible experience and something unique in Bucharest!!!
Catalin Malureanu: One of Bucharest's secret places, was revealed to the Romanian Clefs d'Or Concierges - a typical appartment kept intact since 1980! Here you can see, touch, use the same appliances, clothes, furniture etc. like living in the communist era.Very interesting for kids, who can experience a past moment in their parents life, which they shouldn't accept anymore - restrictions during the Communist Regime.A great history tool and a very unique place of Bucharest and Romania!....tours available through our Concierge lodges!#lesclefsdorRomania#concierge#yourkeytoeverything#cheiledeauromania
Trash Dog: fun
Dinu Margarint: In memory of communism
Will Baach: Imagine a time machine drops you off in the 80s. Now imagine that you go into someone's apartment right after they went to go grab some milk. Now imagine being able to have someone take you through that house and tell you everything about the house, Bucharest, and Communist Romania. If you can imagine all of that, then I can imagine you'd like this museum.-Propaganda Officer 76284

Rere Dance: An extraordinary museum! Many works by Grigorescu, Luchian, Tonitza, etc. The house itself is wonderful, as are the sculptures in the inner courtyard. The entrance ticket is 12 lei!!! Very little. For children up to 18 years it is free. A miracle!
Aurel Afrasinei: Very nice
Dany Santo: Very good
Marius Retegan: The collection housed in the museum was compiled by an expert eye, it is extremely coherent, almost all Romanian painters who mattered up to that moment are present. Plus French masters. Plus a Picasso and even a Brâncusi. I liked what I saw so much that I repeated the visit after a few weeks. The staff is kind, professional, the ticket price is modest, but be careful, you can't pay by card and it's good to bring the right money. From my point of view, the museum should be included in an art circuit that also includes the national art museum, the museum of art collections, with a ticket that allows visiting all the sights, or with a tourist card.

George Laptaretu: Very elegant museum. To be visited. Not very well known museum due to an incomplete advertisement, this place is located into a discreet and elegant neighbourhood area of Bucharest. The custodians are paying attention from the moment you enter to museum and during visiting. In case you need help or more information regarding the exposed pieces of arts, you are welcome to ask and to receive a full description. The exhibition is mostly with Romanian paintings starting mostly from 18th century up to 20th one. Impressive museum.

Carmen Cristescu: It was a wonderful experience. I recommend it.
The museum is small, from an interesting 2 small rooms with European paintings and a tiny exposition of the Baba. Everything else .... well, so-so
Dimitrie Teodosiu: A beautiful day through D'Orsey in Bucharest! Maybe we should shout, maybe cry or maybe become neutral, disinterested in what surrounds us, and yet.... We all go with the desire to immerse ourselves in Art Safari, to immerse ourselves in culture in temporary exhibitions, to be seen at the book fair or at street theater festivals. Sure, it's easier to be on Calea Victoriei or in the old center on Sunday to shoot two or three birds with one stone. Walking, beer, safari, food, a street theater and we are good for Monday. Man next to man. On Calea Victoriei, close to the domain of the Romanian Academy, we discover a U-shaped building, with a generous courtyard bordered by a wrought iron fence. The place seems deserted, almost nothing indicates that you can enter. No one takes you by the hand, no one wants you to see, to offer you the right to admire the art at home. Not brought through exhibitions made to spend the city hall budget and push the money into bottomless pockets. I entered the yard shyly, with a little fear that I would disturb someone from his sleep. The sleep of reason gives birth to monsters, so I bravely crossed the yard admiring the statues, trees, flowers and the dreams of the people who once hoped that we would enter there, that we would see Tonitza, dozens.... on Grigorescu, on Patrascu, on.... who do you want from us, not one, two but hundreds!!! If you propose to see Tonitza at Art Safari with two famous paintings, I suggest you see a few dozen there, along with a few hundred other works by the majority of Romanian painters. Nowhere will you have the opportunity to admire Romanian painting, sculpture and graphics as in those rooms we forgot because they are not in the Bucharest guides. You don't advertise, you don't display billboards, you only display almost empty spaces. But how full of history, value, shape and color. Go there so that you can be proud that you have seen almost everything that is worth in Romanian art! You will find everything there and even more!
Georgian Starluc: An ok collection. Valuable paintings. It can also be visited if you are on the run, not finding it extremely large.

Doina Velicu: The entrance is extremely expensive for what the museum offers...that is, nothing more, many houses are closed and a large part dilapidated.
Antoniu Berar: An excellent location!
Adina Calnan: Highly recommend it. Very nice to see all the different homes of different regions. Very authentic. We walked on our own. The QR code for the audio tour did not work. I inquired in the smaller gift shop, and was told that other guests have reported that it sometimes works, and sometimes it doesn't.Was also told if you want an in-person tour, you must book in advance
Szpindel: 20230701_Spindel. Disappointment is the one word that comes to my mind after visiting this museum.First, they redirect to another entrance (there are two) and if it wasn't for the help of a young Romanian who spoke English I wouldn't have known what was going on. Then disappointment because the whole open-air museum could be entered into 3 or 5 huts ... Everything was closed and the open-air museum was more like a fair and a festival than a museum. Lots of stalls with lakals. There is no sightseeing pattern. You have to go back, turn around - not bad. If it wasn't for the fact that I really like open-air museums and history - I would give one star. The parking lot is tiny but free. It's worth coming early. When after 3 hours (I was still having lunch) I was leaving the museum, there was no free place (around 12:00). It is also worth going to the Arc de Triomphe, which is a few hundred meters away.
Thierry Lebourg: Very disappointed: it said in the Internet that it was opened and when I arrived there it was closed. No notice to be seen. An unfriendly woman just told me :“closed today“. It reminded me of my first visit 50years ago in the „good old“ „communist“ times…

Jana Danoiu: I am grateful for this exhibition. For me it was a unique chance to be able to enjoy Nicolae Grigorescu's paintings,,,, profound, they teleported me to the second century.
marius bildan: Despite the masterpieces that the museum hosts, the unfortunate organization of the management leads to embarrassing situations, such as the lack of souvenirs, such as magnets, from being sold. Too bad, maybe we can learn something from other museums.
Andreea Georgescu: The Nicolae Grigorescu exhibition is extraordinary
Mathias Vikse Rovik: Nice place with historical depth, would recommend if you are history interested. W Fair: Beautiful building. There are three sections, a permanent art collection spanning a range of eastern European art, a temporary collection (which was excellent in July 2023), and an area that is set up to showcase the palace as it was originally built. I highly recommend buying the full ticket for all 3. The only negative comment is that the air conditioning is minimal so it can be quite warm in the exhibits in the summer.
Anca Jivan: Cool !
Liangui Yang:

There's also cool badges and coins they made centuries ago. Plus, the best part of this museum is that you go outside and you can see the tanks they actually used in WWI and WWII. There's also another museum that talks about the engine the plane uses and planes they drove in. Overall, this is the best experience I've had and I would love everyone to try. Szpindel: 20230701_Szpindel. Wszystko zamknięte a sam skansen przypominał bardziej jarmark i festyn niż muzeum. Straganów z lakalsami mnóstwo. Do tego brak jakiegoś schematu zwiedzania. Trzeba się wracać, kluczyć - no słabo.

Loredana Niculae: You've got to check out the Micul Paris Museum in Bucharest! It's an absolute treasure that takes you back to the time when Bucharest was fondly called "Little Paris." Trust me, it's an experience you won't want to miss.As soon as you step inside, you'll be blown away by the attention to detail. The museum beautifully recreates the atmosphere of late 19th, early 20th-century Bucharest, with stunning architecture, period furnishings, and historical artifacts that tell the story of the city's French-inspired heritage. What really sets this place apart is how interactive it is. You can try on vintage clothes, learn some fancy dance moves, and even try your hand at cooking traditional Romanian and French dishes. The staff are incredibly friendly and knowledgeable—they'll make you feel like you've stepped into a time machine.Oh, and the cafes! They've recreated these charming Parisian cafe where you can sip on coffee. It's like being transported to a different world. If you're a history buff, an architecture enthusiast, or just someone who loves discovering unique experiences, the Micul Paris Museum is an absolute must-visit. It's a hidden gem that reveals the secrets and treasures of Bucharest's past. Trust me, you won't regret it!PS: It's also an amazing romantic expereince for a couple that can rent it for a special night out, marriage proposals or any kind of wonderful atmoshpere. I love the owners and the energy of the place. You can't miss with this one.

Theodor: Incredible place, full of old beautiful furniture which remain intact after so many years. The guide was very kind and explained to me and my friends about the history of the apartment and how the family used to live at the end of the 19th century, when Bucharest was so called “Little Paris”. Great experience, would love to go another time!
picky nose: 3 stars for the arrogant and self sufficient attitude of the owner every time we asked him questions also seeming slightly irritated and bored. Maybe he should keep a candy box full of chocolates next to him to get rid of that nausea when he answers questions that he didn't look very nice.
Very nice collection of beginning 20ths century . Very pleasant ownerVisited on Weekend Wait time No wait Reservation recommended No …More
