Abbey Lindley: i don’t normally review places i have been, but this was incredible. I had the mushroom on top of hummus and it was INCREDIBLE. Upstairs is decorated nicely, but could maybe do with some music on, and the vibes outside were immaculate. I am vegetarian, and the range of choices was impressive, especially compared to other restaurants in bucharest. Mihaila Nicoleta: Aubergine is such a great place when it comes to oriental flavours and original recipes. Piotr: The place is ok but totally overpriced. The food is good but just good. And I now also realised that they have included a tip on my bill without my knowledge. I already saw other opinions posted on this place saying the same. The owner replied this was a mistake and not their practice. Apparently, this is their dishonest practice. I do not recommend this place at all!

ILANY SCHWARTZ: It was considered one of the oldest and most beautiful restaurants in Bucharest, with good food and moderate prices. Now, it became a "factory", long wait, and meals from very good to less than medium quality. The french fries arrived almost cold, the mititei ( still good) ...I asked to be well done, and they served it almost "vivant". At least, the mustard was very good.
Maksymilian Majer: This is a typical tourist location. It was recommended to me by at least five different people as the great place for local cuisine. While the building and the atmosphere have a great vibe with live music and dance performances, the food isn't the best I've had. The local skinless sausages were nice, but the French fries were just awful - not crispy at all. There are better options to eat local food in Bucharest.

Claudia Melcaru: The waitress behaviour today, 8th November, was extremely offensive and way out of line. No patience at all, snapped at us that we changed our order within less a minute and then after we ate when my husband took ithe pizza carton box inside to put it in the bin, she yelled at him to leave it outside (Geeeez!). When he left it next to the door, she comes agrily, picks it up and says aggresivily ‘Not here you should leave it!’ We were both in shock! This has never happened to us. When I went to her to explain her that my husband’s intention was to help her not leave the garbage outside, the chef came and while he tried to settle the situation, she raised her voice at him saying ‘Stop wasting your time with this client who got offended stupidly and go bake 2 more pizzas’. We will NEVER come back here!

Adelina Sandu: I chose this place based on the reviews. I say with disappointment that the score of 4.3 does not reflect reality. Maybe the food is good, but unfortunately we didn't get to that point. We ordered something to drink and asked the waiter to leave us the food menu, not having decided what we want to order yet. The waiter's answer was that he can't leave the menu on the table because it doesn't look nice and there is a risk of it getting stained, so he took it from us. I do not recommend this place because of the staff.

Ivona Octavia Laiu: Expensive, but worth it. They change the menu once a season. They have 2 short menus and 1 long tasting menu.The short menus cost 550 RON each and the long one 650 RON. So, for a dinner in two + some cocktails and the included tip, it will cost you about 1400 RON in total.You can make an online reservation and you'll get a reply on your mail with the menus. They accept only card payment. All the details will be on the mail, except the bar menu (cocktail, beer, wine, etc.).I spent there around 3 hours with my boyfriend. The courses/dishes were small, but tasty and presented to us in a tasteful manner. In some photos I've already seen from previous reviews, the menu items seem bigger. They are actually small like the palm of your hand, but very nourishing. I felt already full after the appetizers.The music was smooth jazz (coming from amazing state of the art speakers), the lightning seemed perfect for a time in two.What I enjoyed the most was the tour of the restaurant and its history, at the end of our dinner.The initial house was projected by the same architect of the Arch of Triumph (our Romanian version).It belonged to a boyar and after remained in ruins. It was rehabilitated by the original plan. The walls in the room we had reservation was made of black ceramic tiles - very rare.The floor was made of river stones, the paintings belong to a Romanian artist and everything from the menu is with organic Romanian ingredients. Even the liquid soap from the bathrooms (which smells addictive) is made by a Romanian company.For tourists I think the local wines and their stories would be a delight, too.I also asked about the name of the restaurant. It's called Kane after a Hawaiian god.It was a special dinner and evening for us and we fully enjoyed.

Food was excellent, service friendly and attentive and the Chef's Table rewarded us with prime view of the inner workings of the kitchen. If available, I highly recommend it and the long tasting menu.

It is located inside of a renovated building with a wonderful interior.What I have to say is that this experience is within the top 5 of my life. The food is extraordinary with a lot of clever ideas, a dreamy ambience and an excellent service. Many kudos to the maitre d’! Once the Michelin guide decides to extend to Romania, I am sure they will receive a star! I understand it is pricey but if you can afford it give it a try! Bogdan Andrei: Riding the new Romanian cuisine wave like a pro surfer.This restaurant is a must go to anyone that is in the search not for the next meal but for the next level experience. A 2-3 hours culinary experience depending on how much time you want to invest... In you.The restaurant is located close to the Old Town, in a very lively old house, renovated and brought back to life by the owners, with no small investment, around half a million euros. This says something about their commitment to good taste and planning to make this location a flagship for their business. Went on a Saturday with a colleague to try their menu and see what is all the hype about them. Had the short menu with wine pairing. The food was.... amazing, from the presentation to the taste. Also I went there a little sceptic when I heard they are a fine dining restaurant... Lots of restaurants in Bucharest advertise themselves as fine dining but at best they are fine cuisine. These guys are the real deal, after each serving they changed the plates, the cutlery, the only thing they didn't changed were the lights which were also cleverly designed to put the food in a "good light", with beams hitting the plates right in the center.The wines, are mostly Romanian, and from small wineries so you might drink there wines that are exclusevly sold to them. I could write more about the food but you need to go and discover it for yourselves, and be aware that they change the menu according to the season as they use food that are most common in the season.In conclusion, your time is an investment and if you want to gain something from it, I recommend you this awesome restaurant.

Jean-Louis Kraus: A little out of the beaten path. It's a hipster meeting place, but in the best of all ways. The food also is not only the typical Romanian goodies, what we had was really good. The place has a vintage (a little run down) look, charming and compelling, in contrast to the menu, which are on a Samsung tablet. And to round up the compliments, the place service was totally up to pair.A very pleasing experience.

Like a tiny rustic garden.Besides this, the food looks good on the menu and on the plate. The problem is when you put what is on the plate inside of your mouth... The food is tasteless, hard to chew - I ordered the stake - and expensive.Literally, you pay for the place.
Piers Posner: Been going here almost as long as it has been opened so don’t expect an unbiased review: very cool interior, charming fin de siècle building, great location, and superb burgers. Yes, the service can be hit & miss at times but my waiters have all been very pleasant. Super gin cocktails in a place that is something of an institution.

Stephen LACAZE: We had an unfortunate experience in this establishment, which would seem to be (based on other reviews) unusual, but nonetheless, I can only rate on what I experienced .It had obviously been a busy night, but one that the hotel knew was coming. Either the cafe was understaffed or disorganised, but lots of empty tables still had dirty dishes on them.After eventually being seated, another delay , even though we knew exactly what we wanted to order.The order was placed ... And the real waiting began ! Over an hour from seating to eating !As if to add injury to insult, serving size was very inconsistent, with a large seafood risotto looking significantly smaller than a small chicken risotto. Some tables get bread ... Some don't ... Who knows why ?Mercifully, the food was actually of a high standard, well presented and reasonably priced !
